About Us

Welcome to Llangollen Canoe Club. Our aim is to have fun and promote the sport of canoeing in a friendly and safe manner. The sport is available to both the young and the not so young who wish to learn or improve their paddling skills. Don't worry if you do not have all the kit, we hire it out for a small fee.

History

The club was formerly set up about 18 years ago and is conveniently located alongside the River Dee on the outskirts of the town.

We are affiliated to the Welsh Canoeing Association (WCA). Risk assessments have been completed for club activities and first aid kits are readily available.

We have club evenings every Monday throughout the summer (April - end September) where both experienced and new paddlers practice their paddling skills. During the winter months pool sessions are organized and Sunday river running trips - weather (water) permitting.

Administration

The club is run `by members for the members' on a voluntary, non-commercial, non profit making basis.

Club funds are used to maintain and purchase equipment and the hosting of the club web-site. Some of our coaches are unpaid volunteers and so may not be able to attend every coaching session.

The club committee meets regularly - current members are
